EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT IN COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Schools only have kids for a handful of hours per day while parents bear the core responsibility of molding their child or children's lives. Studies have shown that a large inequality in children's early language environment, with children from families of lower socioeconomic status hearing approximately 30 millions words less than their peers from families of higher socioeconomic status. 

  • Inspired by the Thirty Million Word Initiative, we need to create a reliable support for parents in need. 
  • We need to offer state sponsored programs so that our next generation has a chance. As Doctor Suskind so eloquently stated, "That every child in this country is our own and we should want for them what we want for our own children."

STRONGER SCHOOLS

All children should have access to quality public education. We need to fund our public schools so they are both competitive and equitable. We are for positive reform. We need to hear the voices of educators and parents. We cannot treat schools like businesses because education is about the future, not about profits.
